Trends in Technology

This is the link to my YouTube video! https://youtu.be/_SKCnRfC748

In my latest project, I explored the rising trend of wearable technology-devices like smartwatches, fitness rings, and health monitors that we wear on our bodies to track data and improve our daily lives. My presentation focused on how these devices are used in classrooms and workplaces, their advantages and disadvantages, and what the future might look like for this ever-evolving field.

I learned that wearable tech has grown far beyond just counting steps. Today, it’s integrated into education for tracking student engagement, used in healthcare to monitor patients remotely, and adopted by companies to boost employee wellness and productivity. While these devices offer significant benefits-such as real-time data, health awareness, and improved time management-they also come with challenges, including privacy concerns, cost, and the risk of digital distraction.

Reflecting on this project, I realized how much I underestimated the potential of wearable devices. I also discovered where I stand in the Diffusion of Innovation model: I would consider myself an early adopter-someone open to new technology but still thoughtful about how and when to use it. Before this assignment, I had only surface-level knowledge of wearables, but now I see their broader societal and educational impacts.

This project helped me connect technology with real-world applications and gave me a deeper appreciation for how innovation continues to shape the way we live, work, and learn.
